Analyse an animation

 Today I analyse a animation which left a deep impression on me.It's "Cyberpunk Edgerunners".

1.     What kind of sudden IMPACT does their work have when you first see/experience it?

I like the art style of this animation.The color is high saturation and always use cool tone,so it makes an exciting feeling.

2.     What do you like about the DESIGN of their work?

First is the people.Different peole have different life,they have their own dream and distinct personality.

Next is the world design.It is a world full of high technology.Color full city and flying cars are really absorbing.

3.     What kind of ELEMENTS (colours, materials, tools, words…) are used?

The color is always purple or blue in the city,it makes the city looks full of technology.The characters' clothes are bright with different color.All the things are clear,the bright part and the dark part has no transition. 

4.    How would you describe the COMPOSITION (positioning, structure, pacing, ordering…) of their work?

The anime is told in chronological order and is filled with blood and violence, and is aimed at adults over the age of 18.

5.     How would you describe the MOOD (atmosphere / tone) of their work?

The anime features a fast-paced storyline. Brief encounters between the main character and his friends, along with various battle scenes, are presented through sharp visuals. The tone is fast-paced and exciting, with dramatic twists and turns.

6.     Does the work include SPACE in the design?

The ending of the anime presents an open ending, with a lot of blanks for viewers to imagine.

7.     Who do you think the AUDIENCE for the work is - and what's the purpose of it?

The audience of this work is young people over 18 years old. The whole anime depicts a future world full of technology and decay. The anime has no purpose, just shows an imagination of the possibilities of the future.

8.     Are there any CONSISTENT (repeated/continued) qualities to the work?

The paintings are consistent and continue with a fast-paced plot, and there is no sense of fragmentation in every frame.

9.    Do you think the work COMMUNICATES any messages or ideas? 

This work conveys a kind of dystopian sentiment that even if there is high technology in the future, it still cannot change the dilapidated life of the people at the bottom.

10.  What do you think are the LASTING qualities (what will stay in your memory?)?

First of all, the plot, the death of the main character and the exciting scenes left a deep impression on me. Secondly, the style, this sharp and vivid style makes the picture very clear.
