Process of the final project

1.world creation

First, I set out to create a world. My passion for the game “Elden Ring” inspired me to draw upon its medieval aesthetics and fantastical magic elements. The world I envisioned teems with magical creatures. Within this realm, the wizard hold a revered status. Most possess eccentric personalities and razor-sharp intellect, get their power through the study of these  magical animals.

This is what I originally envisioned a wizard to look like.
She gained a power that combined fire and plants by studying a magical vine with a burning aura.

And my idea of other wizard look like .

These wizards wield magic through various mediums. While they can cast spells, their magic primarily serves to imbue weapons with magical properties. For instance, a water wizard might bestow the water element upon a weapon, making it glide smoothly and lightly when wielded.

However, finding these wizards is extremely difficult, as they are rare and seldom leave their dwellings. Only true warriors have the chance to imbue their weapons with unique magic.

The protagonist of the story is a brave warrior clad in full armor, never revealing his face. Through sheer determination and skill, he encounters various wizards and obtains enchanted weapons imbued with different magical powers.

My final work shows the main character and his various weapons.

2.Painting process

Clip studio:
layers, marquee tool, magic wand tool, selection tool, air brush, marker pen, paint bucket tool.

Photoshop:
color saturation tool, color adjustment tool, brightness change tool.

First, I'll use Clip Studio to create a sketch. I'll do this with the marker tool.

Next, I'll reduce the transparency of the sketch and separate it into a separate layer.

Third, I will use the Straight and Curved tools to outline the semi-transparent sketch to avoid messy lines.

Fourth, I first used the paint bucket tool to quickly fill in the basic color, then employed the spray gun tool to perfect the shading. Interestingly, I discovered that simply adding some black to the highlights or bright colors to the shadows could instantly give objects a metallic sheen. I conducted research on color mixing. I realized that dark colors cannot just add black into the original color. When deepening a color, it's also necessary to increase its saturation to some extent.

Finally, I used Photoshop to make minor adjustments to the entire image, such as adjusting brightness or overall saturation.

Here's another interesting detail that I'm a huge fan of the game "Dead Cells",so I drew inspiration from one of its costume color schemes to create one of my illustrations.
